2023-02-28 20:47:00After Gaimin Gladiators beat Team Aster in the first playoff match of Major in Lima, we caught up with Erik "tOfu" Engel to briefly talk about the win and the big delay at the start. And he even shared with us his favorite way to rest after the matches!
[About the arena]
This first match at the arena was really exciting, we weren't really nervous. It was different from other events somehow, maybe that's because it's not our first big event anymore. But overall just walking on stage already feels amazing, because the crowd is super loud, they are shouting, they are giving a lot of good vibes. Super high energy, so it was a lot of fun to be there, especially ending up with a 2:0 here with the guys.
[The reasons for the delay]
In the beginning, it was delayed because of production stuff, setting up things. But once we got in the booth, we had to make our settings, and get into voice, etc. So, we had some problems with the headphones and the microphones, we just had to get it fixed, but it didn't exactly work out. So we had to change our microphones. It just took a long while.
The delay was kinda annoying, everything took a long while. We just wanted to play, one or the other player also had to go to the toilet again. But we knew that the other team is in the same situation, so we just wanted to make sure that it doesn't really affect us, and if anything, that it's a disadvantage for the enemy. So we tried to keep our cool.
[About the best relaxation method at the Major]
At the hotel, there is a big pool, and a smaller one with warm water and a jacuzzi, which is very relaxing. At the end of the day, after officials or scrims, it's really helpful to just come here and relax after the day of Dota. That's kinda my favorite part. I already said earlier after we won that we earned to go to pool now.
