PGL changes rules amidst Wallachia S4 following reported rules violation by Edge
2025-04-19 14:26:00PGL changed the rules to their Wallachia Season 4 Dota 2 event. They changed the list of individuals forbidden from placing bets from "players, managers, and coaches," to a more broad definition. Below is the comparison of the previous and current rules from the official website.
All individuals affiliated with any organization participating in the tournament — including players, managers, coaches, and other staff - are strictly prohibited from placing any form of bets on matches within this tournament. If it is proven that any such individual has placed a bet or has intentionally attempted to influence the outcome of a match, their team may face penalties up to disqualification and ban from future PGL events.

This change arrived shortly after Russian Head of Dota 2 at Edge (previously Mosquito Clan), Khaled "sQreen" El-Khabbash, was spotted placing bets on the event's matches, not involving his squad. The TO reportedly threatened to disqualify the team. The specialist defended himself, saying he is not a manager, although his position is certainly managerial, and he used a Russian word for his role that literally translates as manager. SQreen also said he never bet on his team. Presumably, this was the cause of the definition change in the rulebook.
PGL Wallachia S4 runs from April 19 to 27, with 16 attending teams. The prize pool of the tournament is $1 mln. Edge started the event with a win. They defeated Xtreme Gaming in the opening match 2:1.
