Riot launches investigation of "Valorant competitor" after sexual assault allegations against Florescent
2025-05-19 13:13:00Riot Games started an investigation following the accusations of sexual assault against a professional Valorant player. They avoided naming the person. However, the post was released soon after Ava "florescent" Eugene, currently inactive player for Apeks, was publicly accused of it.

The initial information came from Marceline "karie" Carson, who reported on the alleged sexual assault on behalf of her friend, who wished to remain anonymous. She responded to Riot Games' statement, claiming that the accused person is indeed Ava Eugene.

On May 17, karie revealed the story to the public. Later, she shared an almost identical text with the additional details, presumably written by the victim. The girl is nicknamed Brick by Carson to not reveal her identity in the post. According to it, she is or was an esports player, as she mentioned "missing scrims" in the text.
The alleged sexual assault happened on January 3, 2024 when Florescent was 17. Brick shared that when she was 15, they started dating and engaging in a sexual relationship, which lasted for nine months. The incident took place after they broke up. Florescent invited Brick over and called an Uber. Then, Eugene changed the password on the girl's phone upon arrival, which was explained to Brick as an attempt to not reveal the location of Florescent's home.
The girl "brushed it off," and they had two sexual engagements. The first one was consensual but painful and caused bleeding. After taking a nap together, Florescent forced the second act, which Brick didn't agree to.
I told her I didn’t want to have sex and continued to tell her no, and kept resisting things, and along with not wanting it, I was still bleeding from earlier. I cannot stress enough how badly I did not want sex and just wanted to go home, and I made all of that very clear to her.
She ignored my efforts to make her stop and ended up on top of me soon after. She then kept trying to take my pants off and kept trying to reach her hands into my panties. I kept telling her I had to leave, reminding her that she had stated she was jet-lagged and not feeling well earlier, saying she should just rest instead, and that I could potentially just see her another time, basically grasping at anything, because I felt so powerless. She told me 25 minutes had gone by, and that we could’ve been done by now.
I didn’t know what to do, my phone was locked, and I had no way of contacting my mom unless she called me first. I felt so trapped, but I kept refusing until she asked me if I wanted to disappoint her. That was the moment I realized I had no power and that there was truly nothing I could do besides give in. After nearly 30 minutes of rejecting and resisting her sexual advances, I gave up on resisting her and let her do what she wanted. After that, she let me leave. I cried the entire Uber ride back, and once I was home, I texted a close friend about what happened, recounting what she did to me.
Brick's post also accuses Florescent of emotional manipulation, cases of fake suicide attempts to provoke her reaction, and cheating.
Florescent responded to the initial post on X on May 17. Eugene denied any accusations of sexual assault, claiming to have evidence against it. The player is exploring legal assistance and opting to stay silent for now to avoid possible implications if the case goes to court.

Ava "florescent" Eugene is a transgender player who previously competed in Valorant Game Changers league on the highest level. Eugene won two biggest league events of 2023 and 2024 with Shopify Rebellion. At the end of 2024, the player moved to Apeks to participate in regular circuit, but went inactive in April 2025 until the end of VCT season "to rest up and recharge." Florescent complained about burnout caused by relocation to Germany, and other issues, including "dealing with some personal and family emergencies."
