Riot Games pays tribute to passed away Twisten from Vitality in Valorant Battle Pass
2023-06-27 12:25:00Valorant developers commemorated former Vitality player Karel "Twisten" Asenberner's memory in the new Battle Pass. They added a title after his name, a similar way they paid tribute to Gizem "Luie" Harmankaya, the Turkish pro who died in the 2023 earthquake.

Twisten supposedly committed suicide, due to psychological problems he had, according to his mother. The woman reached out to the community just days after he passed away to defend the image of esports against speculations saying gaming could be a reason.
Karel passed away on June 7 at the age of 19. He competed in Valorant professionally since the very beginning of the game. His teams have been Entropiq, BIG, and Vitality since November 2022. Twisten claimed titles in several small online events, reached the semis at Red Bull Home Ground #3 LAN tournament, and finished 5th-6th at his last competition, the VCT 2023 EMEA League.
