Fnatic wins LOCK.IN 2023 in dramatic fashion. Chronicle becomes first to get two LAN trophies

Fnatic outlasted LOUD in the spectacular grand final of the VCT 2023 LOCK.IN event in Valorant. The match had everything: back-and-forth comebacks, furious fans, and a disastrous upset against the home champions.

Fnatic took the first two maps easily, just to lose the following two in a similar fashion. Brazilian fans were about to witness LOUD taking the trophy at home as they achieved a seemingly unbeatable score of 11:3 on the deciding Icebox. But it never happened. Stubborn Fnatic didn't give up and stole the victory from LOUD, finishing the map 14:12.

Russian player Timofey "Chronicle" Khromov set the bar for other players in the scene. He is the first player to ever win two big LANs. In 2021, he secured the trophy of VCT Masters 3 in Berlin.

VCT 2023 LOCK.IN ran from February 13 to March 4 on LAN, featuring single elimination playoffs for 32 partnered teams on patch 6.02. The $500,000 prize event was staged in Sao Paulo, marking the beginning of franchising in Valorant.
