FPX.Ardiis allegedly recovered from sickness amidst cases of food poisoning and COVID-19 at Valorant Champions 2022
2022-09-05 10:19:00FPX released a tweet stating they will play as scheduled against XSET at Valorant Champions 2022. That means that Ardis "Ardiis" Svarenieks recovered after his sickness. Their match will start at 20:00 (CEST).
Ardiis had to visit a local hospital in Istanbul supposedly due to a case of heavy food poisoning or rotavirus. His condition at the time was unclear. Other attendees also suffered from stomach sickness: his teammate Shao, Fnatic's Boaster, caster Pansy, and PRX's d4v41. The latter was hospitalized, and there was a worrying photo of him lying on the hospital bed. Their coach alecks posted the image on Twitter but later deleted it.

As if it wasn't enough, there are multiple confirmed COVID-19 cases at the event. Several players on 100 Thieves and OpTic Gaming got positive and played from secluded areas. On September 4, tournament testing revealed someone on EDward Gaming also caught coronavirus.

Valorant Champions 2022 is running from 31 August to 18 September in Istanbul. 16 teams are competing for a million-dollar prize pool and a share of the skin bundle sales. FPX are one of the top title contenders, as they won the latest international LAN, VCT 2022 Stage 2 Masters Copenhagen.
