SimpMatt's competitive journey began in May 2020 with Liberate (LBR), participating in the PCS Charity NA tournament. Although they didn't place, this marked the start of his professional career. His early career with LBR saw him compete in the PCS Series 1 NA, achieving a notable 14th-place finish and earning a small share of the prize pool. His initial teammates included well-known players like JRhead, IceTech, and Addit, providing valuable experience in his early years.

Throughout his career, SimpMatt has represented eight different teams, including Susquehanna Soniqs (SQ), Fabled (FBL), Orion (ORN), KEKW Keyers (KEKW), Slappers Only (SLAP), Spicy Fish (SF), and currently Gooners (GOON). His time with Spicy Fish was particularly noteworthy, with the team achieving a top 21 global ranking at one point in 2021. These experiences have undoubtedly shaped his skills and provided exposure to diverse playstyles and team dynamics.

SimpMatt has participated in approximately 15 tournaments over his career. His recent appearances include the PUBG Americas Series Phase 5 (PAS 2025 P5) with Gooners, the PUBG Atlantic Showdown (PAS), and several ESL PUBG Masters tournaments with Spicy Fish.
