Bobby Kotick was re-elected to Activision Blizzard's Board of Directors

Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick has been successfully re-elected to the company's directors' board. The news came right after Blizzard investigated itself and found no evidence of harassment in the company. Kotick will keep his place for one more year.

Back in November 2021, the CEO got under scrutiny after Wall Street Journal released a report on his work. Over 1300 company employees demanded Kotick’s departure from Activision Blizzard. It’s worth noting that, in this case, he may reportedly receive a "golden parachute" of $15 mln.

Some charges against Kotick involve the CEO backing his senior employee after a sexual assault and threatening to kill his assistant over a voicemail. In general, the article states that Kotick was aware of numerous misconduct cases in his company. Those served as a basis for California authorities to file a suit against Activision.

Activision Blizzard’s latest Diablo Immortal came as a financial success, despite the controversial pay-to-win monetization considered way too greedy by many fans and critics. In January, the company announced a merger with Microsoft for a record-breaking $69 bln. The deal is expected to be finished by summer 2023.
