Overwatch 2 beta reaches 1.4 million viewers and hit the record on Twitch

The Overwatch 2 closed beta-testing broke the discipline record for viewers on Twitch. After the day beta opened up, Overwatch had 1.4 million viewers, according to Twitch Tracker.

The reason for the game's surge in popularity is the drops feature, which has been taken advantage of by famous streamers. The xQc stream, for example, drew more than 300,000 viewers, while the ex-pro Seagull attracted more than 130,000 viewers. The game’s highest viewership number on Twitch in the past was 439,152 on January 2018 in the opening day of the Overwatch League.

Twitch Drops started on April 27 10:00 a.m. PT. The campaign will run for 8 hours, from 10:00 a.m. to 18:00 p.m. You have to spend 4 hours on the partnered Twitch streams to get access to the beta.
