Riot Games teases new 2v2v2v2v2 "Soul Fighter" event for League of Legends Video

Riot Games has released a teaser for the Soul Fighter in-game event for League of Legends. They showed a cut of the new 2v2v2v2v2 mode gameplay for the first time. The video was posted on the official YouTube channel.

Judging by the video, the mod will be a mixture of Arenas and Battle Royales. Teams consisting of two players will enter a location with its area decreasing over time.

Before the video, the vice president of the studio, Andrei "Meddler" van Roon, revealed some details about the mode.

  • In 2v2v2v2v2, teams will be able to take the same champions.
  • Players will be allowed to ban champions, and the opponent's pick will remain hidden until the start of the match.
  • Champion Mastery Points, Eternals, and Challenges will not be integrated into the mod, at least initially.

The mode will appear on the PBE server after June 28. The official release will happen in patch 13.14, which will be released on July 19. The update will also introduce the new darkin assassin champion Naafiri.
