Blix: Faker was offered from $3 to $5 mln to move to NA Rumors

T1's League of Legends midlaner Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok was offered to move elsewhere for a seven-figure salary after the conclusion of Worlds 2022. The details of the negotiations were uncovered by Blix.gg, citing their sources.

In the preseason, Faker received offers from LNG, Weibo, FlyQuest, and Team Liquid. Chinese orgs couldn't go too high because of the imposed salary cap in the region, but the NA organizations promised him a salary range from $3 to $5 million per year, including bonuses. Liquid's offer was higher than FlyQuest's. In the end, T1 interrupted the negotiations with a similar deal.

On November 28, 2022, T1 announced the extension of contact with Faker. The midlaner will stay with them until November 2025. They didn't disclose the financial side. Earlier, there was a rumor about an offer from China at the size of $20 mln, presumably made before the region had capped the salaries. Blix mentions that they cannot confirm this information but are aware of an offer exceeding $10 mln.

Faker is the most decorated player in the history of LoL competitions. He won Worlds three times and lifted multiple other trophies. Many thought he never actually considered moving out of Korea but engaged in negotiations with other orgs to raise the stakes.
