JD Gaming wins Chinese grand final derby at MSI 2023
2023-05-22 13:03:00JD Gaming defeated Bilibili Gaming in the grand final of League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational 2023. The Chinese standoff ended up with a score of 3:1.
Such an ending was only possible due to the format change at MSI. Now, the tournament features two strongest teams from the leading leagues: LEC, LCS, LCK and LPL. Before this match, there was never a Chinese final at an international event in history.
JD Gaming received $50,000 for the victory, and Bilibili Gaming earned $37,500. The third and fourth places were taken by Korean T1 and Gen.G.
Mid-Season Invitational 2023 was held from May 2 to May 21 in London. The world's best teams competed for $250,000. All tournament participants will also receive a percentage of in-game cosmetics sales. Teams from Eastern Europe did not participate in the event due to the league freeze.
