CLG shuts down after 12 years in esports, merges with NRG

Counter Logic Gaming has officially ceased to exist after NRG took over the legendary organization with its rosters. This was officially announced by the CEO of the latter, Andy Miller, via Twitter.

Andy Miller promised to keep the LoL structure intact. This includes coaches, analysts, the academy teams, down to the last specialist. Madison Square Garden Corporation, which owns CLG, now becomes a major shareholder in NRG.

The former Head of CLG Greg Kim will leave the organization. He announced it on Twitter, thanking those he worked with and saying he still believes in the organization and its remaining players.

CLG is a veteran org in esports. It was founded in 2010 as a League of Legends team and grew into a multi-gaming company over the years. With LoL always being their number 1 priority, the organization also had noticeable rosters in CS:GO, Apex Legends, Fortnite, fighting games and many other esports. During the 12 years of operating, CLG players have won over $5.3 mln in prize money.
