T1, RNG, EG to playoffs with G2 saved by others on final day of MSI Rumble Stage

Evil Geniuses, T1, and G2 Esports qualified for the Mid-Season Invitational 2022 playoffs. Europeans started the final day of the Rumble stage with a loss to the group outsider Saigon Buffalo but were saved by other teams.

Despite having no chances to qualify, Saigon Buffalo managed to outplay G2. With a 4-5 record, LEC representatives risked being tied with PSG Talon. Luckily for them, EG and RNG both won against the Hong Kong squad.

G2 defeated Evil Geniuses in the last game, which was more of a formality. The last match of Rumble Stage between G2 and T1 had zero impact even on the future seedings. Koreans managed to win this time.

Earlier Royal Never Give Up qualified for the playoffs as the first seed. They will choose their semifinal opponent from EG or G2, while T1 will have to play against another team.

Mid-Season Invitational 2022 is taking place in Busan on May 10-29. It features 11 teams from different regions fighting for the $250k prize pool. RNG is playing remotely from China because of the local COVID-19 lockdown.
