G2 beats EG, tops the group after first MSI day

G2 Esports finished the first day of the group stage at Mid-Season Invitational 2022 with two wins over Evil Geniuses and ORDER. The Europeans took first place in their shortened 3-teams group.

T1 and Royal Never Give Up both won their games, beating Saigon Buffalo and Wildcats respectively. It was the Red Canids team that demonstrated a somewhat unexpected result on the first day as they defeated PSG Talon.

Riot Games demands wearing masks during MSI games, removes the ruling after backlash

The second group stage day will start with a G2 vs Evil Geniuses rematch. By the end of it, PSG Talon will face RNG.

Mid-Season Invitational 2022 is being staged in Busan, Korea on May 10-29. Eleven teams from all over the world fight for $250k and a share of in-game sales. LCL representatives are missing this year due to the Spring split being canceled while RNG competes remotely from China.
