TSM FTX fires the coach Peter Zhang due to "conflict of interest and unethical practices"2022-03-19 06:25:00
TSM FTX has decided to remove Head of Player Development Zhang "Peter Zhang" Yi from its staff, the organization announced on Twitter. Reasons stated were "conflict of interest" and "unethical practices".
At this point, it's not clear what exactly Zhang was accused of. He admitted to making "some mistake" and promised to give his side of this story later. LCS Commissioner Jackie Felling explained that it was some "internal team matter" and not the match-fixing incident.
Nothing to do with match-fixing. This is an internal team matter. Not making a statement from Riot at all but I don't want people to think this had anything remotely to do with matchfixing or betting which it does not.
This is the last move in a series of changes made in TSM FTX since the disastrous start of the season when the new roster started 2022 LCS Spring split with a 0-4 record. One of the biggest organizations in the region currently holds the last place in the season.
In January Riot Games has started an official investigation into the allegations of verbal abuse and bullying from TSM founder and CEO Andy “Reginald” Dinh. It seems that the situation there was perfectly described by a member of the team Mingyi "Spica" Lu in a tweet before the announcement on firing Peter Zhang.
