MAD Lions won LEC 2021 Summer
2021-08-29 16:05:00MAD Lions became two-times LEC champions after they beat Fnatic 3:1 in the Summer Split 2021 grand final. They have secured the title they won this Spring when they defeated Rogue 3:2.
Fnatic made a miracle run as they finished only fifth during the regular season. Despite controversial substitutes such as Bwipo's switch to the jungle with Adam stepping in the top lane. They even fought for first place but lost some games at the end of the split. However, in the play-off, their aggressive arcade style paid off. They consecutively beat Vitality, Misfits, G2, and Rogue.
Standings
MAD Lions were the favorites of the match-up as they stomped both G2 and Rogue in the upper bracket. Fnatic managed to fight back only on the second map, where they nearly threw the 10k gold advantage. But MAD Lions took another three and claimed their second title.
Both those teams will play at Worlds as well as Rogue. G2 to miss the World Championship for the first time in their history.
