Leaks, rumors about League of Legends new champion jungler Briar: lore, skillkit, abilities, appearance and other details
Riot Games have released their April roadmap for future League of Legends champions. In it, the developers teased a new character, jungler, called Briar. The main narrative of the hero is some kind of hunger mechanic mixed with a mythical creature. Here's what we know about Briar so far.
Lore and Appearance
According to insider Big Bad Bear, the character will almost certainly look like an anime vampire loli — for example, Krul Tepes from Seraph of the End.
Since Riot said that their lead champion designer was "passionate" about a certain creature with a "hunger that can take over it," the vampire theme was obvious.
August "August" Browning was passionate about a certain type of mythological creature... Anyway, the team really liked the idea of exploring an uncontrollable hunger, and what happens when sometimes that hunger takes over and the creature is allowed to feast on those who deserve it.
August also mentioned Vampire loli in the past. Another hint is that, according to Big Bad Bear, the artist Zeronis is working on the new champion. He already had Gwen's early concept as Vampire anime girl in the past.
Role and Skill Set
It's known that Briar will be a jungler. The champion roadmap indicates that her kit revolves around hunger. There's certainly some work in that direction, as Lexi "Riot Lexical" Gao says that this mechanic was initially supposed to be used by Naafiri.
Release date
There are no teasers or information about Briar's release date so far. The next champion will most likely be Naafiri coming somewhere in the middle of the season. Based on earlier promises, Briar should arrive by the end of the year.
