MAD Lions reverse sweep Rogue to secure their spot at MSI 2021

In the first-ever LEC (or EU LCS) grand final without Fnatic or G2 Esports, MAD Lions beat Rogue with the scoreline of 3:2 and secure their spot at MSI 2021 in Iceland.

For the first time, G2 or Fnatic will not play in LCS or LEC grand final

That was the second clash between those teams in LEC 2021 Spring Play-offs. In the first match, MAD Lions decisively won 3:1. This time, everything went wrong for them during starting maps. Rogue shocked everyone as they took the lead 2:0. On the third map, they took a bit of experimental draft and paid for this, while the fourth map ended with a stomp in favor of MAD Lions.

Rogue had a 5000 gold lead on the decisive map even before minute 20, but MAD Lions managed to win some team fights, came back, won the game, and the whole series.

Standings

For the first time in their history, MAD Lions will represent the European region at Mid-Season Invitational. MSI 2021 will be held in Iceland on May 6-23.
