Valve fixes new Smoke of Deceit bug in patch 7.38b

Valve has patched out a Dota 2 bug that allowed you to see whether your opponents were using Smoke of Deceit or Observer Ward. This is the second time the developers have had to fix this exploit. The information was shared by Team Spirit analyst Mark "sikle" Lerman.

The developers also fixed a bug with neutral enchantments and Lone Druid. Because of the glitch, the bear always received only a level 1 enchantments regardless of the level of the item.

There was a similar Smoke bug fixed at the end of January. The exploit has been known for a long time but was never addressed until it led to the scandalous investigation of bug abuses at ESL One Raleigh 2025 qualifiers. As a result, several teams were disqualified or penalized by ESL.

Patch 7.38b came out on March 4. The developers rebalanced the abilities of multiple heroes and changed the new neutral items and their enchantments. They also adjusted some global mechanics, including the Tormentor. The current PGL Wallachia S3 is the first top tournament running on the new update from the start.
