Yatoro shares his opinion about new Dota 2 hero Kez
2024-11-12 16:30:00Team Spirit inactive carry Illya "Yatoro" Mulyarchuk discussed Kez, the most recent addition to the Dota 2 hero pool. He rated the new character as a weak carry who gets destroyed by others in team fights due to the lack of reliable escape abilities. Yatoro shared this on stream.
Kez is shit of a hero. I played him. You destroy everyone in early and mid-game, and when it comes to late game, you have nothing. The meta needs to change for Kez to start playing Dota. Shadow Fiend, Luna, Morphling, and Medusa take him out too easily. You don't have any 'poking' abilities. Roughly speaking, he is a melee hero with weak escapes, aside from invisibility. Of course, you can get to a tree [with Grappling Claw], and that's fine. But quite often, you enter [a fight] and get destroyed in a few seconds.
So far, Yatoro has picked the new character 10 times and won only 30% of the games. After the hero's release, the Ukrainian predicted that Kez's winrate would grow as the players got used to his numerous abilities. 12 hours after his arrival, the hero lost 65% of pub games. As of now, his winrate is approaching 50% after a buff from Valve.
Kez was added to Dota on November 8 with the arrival of Crownfall Act IV: The Spires of Skywrath. He became the first three-star complexity hero in almost 10 years and the first to have Aghanim's Scepter on release. In both of these cases, the previous one was Arc Warden.
