Mira about Nightfall and gpk~: "In every pub, they told me I was a tier-5 bot, and how successful they were"
2024-10-28 11:06:00Team Spirit inactive support Miroslav "Mira" Kolpakov spoke about the behavior of Egor "Nightfall" Grigorenko and Danil "gpk~" Skutin at the very beginning of their careers. According to him, young Dota 2 players often boasted their superiority and called him a bot. The support shared this on Twitch, cited by Dota2.ru.
I played with Collapse on a tier-3 team Cascade Esports. At the same time, there was VP.Prodigy with Nightfall, gpk~, Save-, and other guys. They were considered rising stars. In every pub, they told me I was a tier-5 bot, and how successful they were. They were the best, I had no right to communicate with such gods of Dota and prove anything to them.
They often wrote nasty things at the time. I was offended at the time, of course, but a year later, I was already in Spirit. And six months later, we won TI11. And you know, there was no desire to take revenge on them. I don't have that kind of vindictiveness at all. I didn't want to ask: "Where are you now, lol? What's wrong with your faces?"
Over time, they changed a lot, especially Nightfall. In pubs, he was now only talking about the game. He changed completely. In fact, Gpk~ did, too.
Collapse and Mira played in Cascade from late 2019 to 2020. The offlaner went to Yellow Submarine in late 2020, and the support joined the squad when they transitioned to Spirit in early 2021. Later that year, the team won The International, which was the first significant LAN for most of them.
Nightfall and gpk~ mostly played together since 2020, except for one year when the carry joined Evil Geniuses. Both never reached higher than 5th-6th place at TIs and never won a significant international LAN, although participated in several finals. This season, they parted ways: The midlaner went on break, while Nightfall joined Tundra Esports.
