Boxi: "Maybe even in the middle of BetBoom Dacha, we will suddenly be able to pick Ringmaster" Exclusive
2024-10-21 11:07:00Team Liquid Dota 2 player Samuel "boxi" Svahn discussed Ringmaster with eScoreNews at BetBoom Dacha Dota 2 2024. He is surprised that the developers still haven't added the new hero to the professional pool. The support didn't play Ringmaster too much, but believes it can be hard to deal with thanks to the long-range saving ability.
— Are you surprised that Ringmaster still isn’t available in Captain's Mode? Especially since he is interesting but can be broken on pro scene?
— Yeah, I think it is pretty strong. It has been nerfed, but I haven't played it that much because it's not in competitive. It's a little bit weird that it is not available for tournament play, especially since I think that from Valve's point of view, it might be that there aren't many big tournaments going on for a while. I think they should just send it. But I think they will. When the new hero comes out, I imagine Ringmaster will be available in CM. You never know; maybe even in the middle of this event, there will be a patch, and suddenly, you can pick Ringmaster. It won't be the first time that something like that has happened to me.
— Will you do it in this case?
— Probably, it is fun to try it. I’d probably play some ranked games, or maybe see how other people play it. It's a weird hero, a lot of buttons, and you have these extra spells that I always forget about. And then my teammates ping me that I have a lot of charges, and I'm like, “Oops, that’s not so good”. But yeah, I think it's strong: The ability to save teammates from a long range is very annoying in competitive, because people will position very well, and saves that are hard to stop become tricky to fight around.
Ringmaster was added to Dota 2 in August and changed in the following patches. Usually Valve adds heroes to Captain's Mode relatively quickly, but it was not the case this time. He hasn't been available at The International 2024 or the next event after it, PGL Wallachia S2.
Team Liquid are playing their first event after the triumph at TI13. They have not been as successful at BB Dacha so far: There have been three bo2s, each ending in a draw. In the next match, they'll face MOUZ. The game starts on October 21 at 12:30 CEST.
