Rumors: Topson to take break after TI13 to attend military service Rumors

Tundra star midlaner Topias "Topson" Taavitsainen might take a break after The International 2024 to attend military service. This was reported by Russian caster Maelstorm on his Telegram channel. Before his post, a reddit user reported that 23savage claimed the same on stream.

Topson will leave Tundra as it's time to attend military service.

Additionally, caster Aleksey "Storm" Tumanov implied that Topson might leave the squad, although he underlined that he heard it as a rumor and didn't have a reliable source. On stream, he assumed that Topson wanted to dedicate his time to the family and didn't mention military service. According to Storm, No[o]ne might replace the Finn on the team.

Dota 2 post-TI13 reshuffle: leaks, rumors, transfer moves
This looks like one of the biggest reshuffles ever.

Topson is currently 26, so he has two years before he must join the army. According to Wikipedia, the country's military service "can be started after turning 18, but can be delayed due to studies, work or other personal reasons until the age of 28." Finnish esports players are typically allowed to have such delays.

Tundra had a decent year, considering that the team was only created at the beginning of 2024. They had issues finding an offlaner after MinD_ContRoL's scandalous departure. However, the squad progressed throughout the season, finishing in the top 4 at Riyadh Masters and the top 3 at The International 2024. They could've reached the grand final of TI13, as the last game against Gaimin Gladiators was pretty close.
