2024-09-13 09:29:00The International 2024 organizers showed new Aegis during the opening ceremony. The trophy got a new half-ring on it featuring Team Spirit as the TI12 champions along all the previous winners.
The allocated place was expired last year, and fans wondered what would be a solution to this issue. There are seven more slots now, which will expire at The International 2030, unless something changes, like it happened with postponed TI10 due to COVID-19.
The opening ceremony was brief, dedicated to past events and participating teams. Gabe Newell welcomed everyone at the tournament, although only in form of a pre-recorded video. You can watch his speech here.
The International 2024 runs from September 4 to 15 in Copenhagen. 16 teams fight for a share of at least $2.5 mln in prize pool. The defending champions, Team Spirit, were eliminated by Xtreme earlier in playoffs. Topson is now the only player who has a chance to lift the Aegis for the third time.
