Team Liquid win Elite League S2, their first trophy since 2020, after nine grand final defeats

The unfortunate series has been going on since November 2020 when they won ESL One Germany 2020. Most often, the organization lost to Gaimin Gladiators, as it happened six times. Their inability to get a trophy became a meme last year. Overall, this is only the second win for the team's core of iNSaNiA, boxi, and miCKe under Liquid's banner, and the first LAN trophy.

Elite League 2024 Season 2 took place from July 25 to August 5 on LAN in Lima, Peru. Participants from all over the world competed for $800 thousand. Tundra Esports and PSG Quest withdrew from the tournament, OG arrived with a stand-in. In the upper bracket grand final, 1win defeated Liquid with a score of 2:0.
