SabeRLight- returns to Shopify Rebellion for Elite League following Arteezy's leave
2024-07-24 08:11:00Jonáš "SabeRLight-" Volek will play for Shopify Rebellion at least one more tournament, Elite League Season 2. SR's roster for the event does not have Artour "Arteezy" Babaev in it, replaced by Crhistian "Pakazs" Savina.
The team's roster was revealed on a roster spreadsheet from organizers. It is unknown if any of these moves are permanent, or Shopify Rebellion assembled a roster just for their final event of the season, as they missed both Riyadh Masters and The International this year. It is also not clear what made SabeRLight- return at least for this event, but the only change in the announced roster is Pakazs replacing Arteezy.
SabeRLight- left the team at the end of May, saying that the main reason for that was lack of chemistry with a "key member of the team". Volek felt that his "voice and opinions were met with backlash", so he eventually came to a conclusion that he wasn't a good fit for the team and left it after 1,5 years on it. Earlier Babaev stepped down from the roster, admitting that he "wasn't prepared for the challenges of leading a team", and that he "contributed to the team's decline."
