Russian analyst: "At The International 2023, the starting prize pool will be $3 million" Rumors

Dota 2 streamer and analyst Yaroslav "NS" Kuznetsov claims Valve will increase the base prize pool for The International 2023. According to him, it will be $3 million, almost twice as much as before. NS shared it on his 3rd party stream of Bali Major.

I'm saying there's a bit of little insight. Maybe it's open information, though, I don't know. Let's assume I just made it up. At this TI, the starting prize pool will be $3 million, more than at any previous one.

The base prize pool of previous TIs was $1.6 million invested by Valve. The rest was raised via in-game sales. This year, Valve announced they would drop Battle Pass. There will be another event celebrating ten years of the game's existence. Some form of crowdfunding will remain.

The International 2023 will run from October 10 to 29. For this year, the tournament will return home to Seattle. It will feature 20 teams. However, there is no Last Chance this time, and the extra slots are distributed differently than at TI11.
