Spirit Larl: "Quite often, I make very stupid mistakes. Because of this, my laning suffers" Interview
2023-06-04 11:11:00Denis "Larl" Sigitov spoke with Dota 2 streamer Alexander "Nix" Levin after Team Spirit had won the DPC EEU 2023 Summer Tour. The midlaner shared how he feels about the hate from the community and pointed at his laning problems.
I have a problem: Not in every game, but quite often, I make very stupid mistakes. Because of this, my laning suffers. I don't think I'm a very bad laner. So far, just average. Somewhere above average when I play on comfortable heroes.
Sometimes I myself push [to pick ] heroes that go into a match-up they shouldn't really go into because I see that they are good in the [following] game. I think you can always play well against any lane hero, I have such a mindset. You must always make your impact in the game. Gotta think about the game after laning and what your hero will do.
Being the main target for critics
It's hard not to notice. Whatever I do, there's too much attention towards me. I did nothing for this to happen. Maybe, I was playing badly. People want to speak about me. I guess it's how it's supposed to be. One man said something, and others echoed. It's like a snowball.
Of course, I read these things. They seem funny. Do they motivate me? No, I do not prove anything to such people. I don't care what others say. It matters how I feel.
Being the only player on the roster without the TI-winner status, Larl is often blamed for his mistakes in Eastern Europe. This Tour, Team Spirit won all seven games and finished 1st in DPC.
