Puppey: "It is the biggest patch I've ever played. But It doesn't really feel any different, even though the update is huge" Interview
2023-05-25 16:13:00Team Secret's Dota 2 captain Clement "Puppey" Ivanov shared his opinion on patch 7.33. He doesn't feel like it changed too much, even though it's the biggest update he has ever seen. In the interview with the panel after the win against D1 Hustlers at DPC WEU 2023, Puppey also revealed that early Tour results were spoiled by some players' sickness.
Well, this is the biggest patch I've ever played. But it doesn't change the fact that we're used to getting big patches. Or used to be in a scenario when the game gets all f**ked up. It looked pretty big, and then you start playing it, and you just see how all the changes were kind of minuscule. Cause the game still ends up being the same, and players adapt to everything. It doesn't really feel any different, even though the patch is huge. But it's still good that it happened, even though it took a while.
Because it brings fun back to Dota because the game gets f**king stale. And now it's not, so it's more fun even when you're losing.

Joking about his famous pattern of getting one place higher with every TI
Yeah, that's the pattern, but at the same time, it's maybe an even harder scenario getting to TI12 than I've ever been in. In the sense of... I've been in Div 2, and I've never been there before. I mean, if I get to TI, they're f**ked, ok? If I get to TI, it's over, man. They will lose to Gaben, God of numbers. The numbers will add up. But that's the problem: I'm getting this really, really rough start right now. They really don't want it to happen. Whatever the gambling gods are doing that. They don't want this to happen. Actually, probably Valve is doing it because, to be fair, everybody is going to bet on me. Because they know I'm going to get first place, and the whole world will explode, and the banks will explode.

Pro Dota 2 has changed because of DPC
Ever since the DPC had started as leagues, it's been more of a "What's the next cheese? Or what's the next thing going on?" Because in the next two or three days, the meta is going to change. It used to be like, "Okay, we going to win the qualifier in three days, and you have to figure out everything." It would be a much shorter time span. Nowadays, if you get a win, it doesn't matter. It means nothing. Because if today you're going to win, the next day someone is going to figure out that Lina Pos 4 is the most broken shit, and you suck because you didn't figure that out.
Team Secret has a record of 1-3 in Summer Tour. In the next match, they will face Entity. Last year, Team Secret got to TI via the Last Chance qualifier and ended up in the grand final, taking the silver. With every year, Puppey's teams go up one position at TIs. Following that logic, he should grab the trophy this year.
