Russian, Belarusian athletes may be allowed to participate in Asian Games, involving Dota 2, LoL, and Hearthstone

Asian Games consider offering Russian and Belarusian sportsmen to participate. The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) announced this decision on Thursday, January 26. This year, Asian Games will feature several esports competitions, such as Dota 2, Street Fighter 5, Hearthstone, League of Legends, PUBG Mobile, Arena of Valor, Dream Three Kingdoms 2, and FIFA.

This is the first step toward returning athletes from Russia and Belarus to Olympic competitions, specifically to the Paris Summer games. They will have to participate "under strict conditions," which means neutral flags and other disassociative measures.

The OCA believes in the unifying power of sport and that all athletes, regardless of their nationality or the passport they hold, should be able to compete in sports competitions.

The OCA has offered to give eligible Russian and Belarusian athletes the opportunity to take part in competitions in Asia, including the Asian Games.
