Yatoro on patch 7.33: "I look at Dota heroes and realize that any of them can work as a carry now" Interview
Team Spirit's carry Illya "Yatoro" Mulyarchuk discussed Dota patch 7.33 with Ukrainian caster STORM on stream. He shared his excitement with the new update, spoke about upcoming meta changes and gave his opinion on Larl and Mikey.
To be honest, I like the patch very much. It's nice to see renewed Dota and its heroes, economics and macro. It's much more interesting to play. In general, I played my whole professional career on a single patch. I've been playing for three years, but for the last three months, I got incredibly sick of it. After the update, I had this spark again. You launch the game, study some things, observe the mechanics and deal with the new stuff. It's very exciting.

What has changed for the carry players?
The hero pool has significantly changed. I just look at Dota heroes and realize that any of them can work as a carry. There's no need to pick specific characters with strong numbers like it was at the Major anymore. So much carries who are versatile and conceptually different from each other. Of course, there will be new meta at the events, but new heroes will enter it and destroy everything.
On farming: honestly, I have not yet figured out what brings the most gold. I will start doing this now because there was no time. We were always playing scrims, and then basketball, and going to sleep. I think patterns have changed a lot because there are many options now. Farming only the safe lane and part of the jungle near the river is total garbage. You'll get around 300-400 GPM, I think. It seems that the key point of Dota is that some carries can push two lanes without wasting a TP scroll. You can always join the fight because of the portals [Twin Gates].
On new runes and Tormentors
Experience runes [Wisdom Runes] are very important. Not for me, but for the supports. <...> I think supports will fight a lot for them. They will come up with smokes and ways to get the runes and will not fight for mid. Previously, you could buy a book at the 10-minute mark, and you were strong.
Tormentors are not too important. They are a nice bonus. If you control the map, you can take them. It's like towers.

On Larl's improvement
He improves every month. He boosts himself mechanically and rapidly progresses in the team. Now, I can delegate some responsibilities to him and focus more on solo play. He started calling more and often leads the game. We work on it together, suggesting and discussing things. That's why I'm very comfortable playing with him. I think Larl is not in his peak shape yet. He has room for improvement, and at the highest point, he will be a very strong player. He's already good but can become the best midlaner in CIS or the world.
Larl has everything for this. He is a hard worker and doesn't over-estimate himself in terms of heroes or playstyle. He has no limits. As a new team member, he can easily fit a new roster and learn new heroes. Here comes the patch, and he willingly plays new characters he had never used before. He enjoys self-improvement as a person and a player. These are his best sides, and because of them, he will never reach his limit, unlike many other players.
About Mikey playing for Shopify
He definitely has a future. He's a typical high-MMR pub player. At some point, he was in meta. Now I'm curious how he will develop because a lot of his heroes aren't that good. In general, he has a good chance of getting on a decent team. Because he is doing well, he is a skilled and thoughtful player.
