Why The International 2022 has a break. How long is TI11 break for Finals Weekend

The International 2022 Main Event will have a break starting on October 23. The matches will continue with a Finals Weekend at a different, much bigger venue. So, what are the reasons for that and when the tournament will return?

Valve never explained the reasons for this interruption. The community can only guess, and they have some decent guesses. The first four days were held at Suntec Singapore convention center, while the final two days will happen at Singapore Indoor Stadium.

The main guess is the Justin Bieber concert. The part of the JUSTICE tour of the famous artist was planned for October 25. And while it was postponed at the beginning of October, obviously you can't change the venue on such short notice. And while it was supposed to be held in Singapore's National Stadium, not Indoor Stadium, these two venues are located right next to each other. So there might be logistical issues due to two such huge events held so close together.

Another possible reason was voiced by OG CEO Juan M.R. Luna. Someone told him that the venue wasn't available for prolonged booking. That led Valve and PGL to a two-venue solution and a schedule with a long break in the middle, needed to prepare the second venue and move the equipment.

So, the matches will continue on October 29. It will start with Upper Bracket finals between Secret and Tundra, and then Aster will fight Team Liquid. On the final day it will start with Lower Bracket final, and finally, best-of-5 grand final for Aegis of Champions.
