Wildcard advances to Elimination Stage, Complexity out of Shanghai Major 2024
2024-12-03 14:13:00The first stage of Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 has concluded. On the final day, Complexity lost to BIG (1-2), MIBR stomped FlyQuest (2:0), and Wildcard took down Passion UA (2-1).
The last series was a battle of IGLs. Peter "stanislaw" Jarguz rolled back the years, finishing as the second-best player on his team, and saving his squad in a 1v2 clutch at the score of 11:11 on the last map. Rodion "Fear" Smyk topped the scoreboard of the bo3, with 1.28 HLTV rating, but it wasn't enough to save the day.
Overall, non-European regions did very well in the opening stage. At least two teams from NA and SA made it to the Elimination Stage. From Asia, only MongolZ were able to advance. The Eastern Europe completely failed the beginning of the Major: Virtus.pro, Cloud9, and Passion UA didn't survive it.
The Elimination Stage of Shanghai Major 2024 kicks off on December 5. First bo1s will be played at 4:00 AM CET. Below are the final standings of the Opening Stage.
