Zinchenko's CS2 team Passion UA qualifies for Shanghai Major, Astralis misses 4th in row

Astralis lost the deciding match of the European RMR for Shanghai Major 2024 to Passion UA. The series went 0:2 in favor of the Ukrainian team — Inferno (9:13) and Ancient (11:13).

This is the fourth Major in a row missed for Astralis. They haven't participated since the Antwerp tournament in 2022. The squad arrived to the RMR without Nikolai "dev1ce" Reedtz, who took a medical leave until the end of the yeah. Since dupreeh and Magisk also miss the event, this is the first time when none of the classic Astralis roster plays at a Major.

Passion UA qualified for the first time. The squad is owned by footballer Oleksandr Zinchenko, who loves CS2 and once even played for them as an emergency substitute. has no prominent names except for Rodion "Fear" Smyk and coach Mykhailo "Kane" Blaghin.

PW Shanghai Major 2024 will be held from November 30 to December 15. The tournament's prize pool is $1.25 million with $500k for the winner. The list of qualified teams can be found below.
