Karrigan's brother passed away, IGL will fly home before Shanghai Major 2024
2024-11-19 15:51:00FaZe Clan captain Finn "Karrigan" Andersen revealed that his brother has passed away. It happened before the Shanghai Major 2024 RMR. He decided to continue playing at the Major despite the tragic circumstances. The IGL will fly home and rejoin the team before the main event.
My big brother unexpectedly passed away a few days before RMR; it has been so rough to deal with it on top of the most stressful tournament. I miss him so much and it’s hard to believe he is not around anymore. I know he is in a good and peaceful place now. RIP, big brother.
I’m going home to attend his funeral and take a few days off. I know he would want me to push through to go the Major and play my heart out, and I will do that.
Karrigan posted this after FaZe Clan won the tiebreaker and made it to the Elimination stage. This part of the Major starts in two weeks, on December 5. During the RMR, the captain played above his average level, amassing a 0.98 HLTV rating.
This is the 34-year-old Danish veteran's 19th major. Only dupreeh and apEX have visited as many Valve's tournaments. They are also the very few professional players who started playing before CS:GO and still compete at the highest level.
