Complexity manager criticizes Valve's system after female Polish team climbs to 36th place in CS2 ranking
2024-11-15 13:14:00Team Poland Fe reached 36th position in Valve's official CS2 world standings. The squad got that high after winning only a single event, IESF Women World Championship 2024, which upset the community, causing debates on social media.
Complexity manager Graham "Messioso" Pitt noted that the sole reason behind the girls' uprising was the prize money. The tournament had $160k in the pool, with $70k for the winner. The specialist noted that the team shouldn't be attacked but criticized the system that put such heavy emphasis on the financial side of the events.
Team Poland Fe consists mostly of the NAVI Javelins team and bears their ranking points. If today was a Major invitation date, they would get a direct spot at European Closed Qualifiers. The Polish squad was below 90th place in world leaderboards before the IESF event.
Note that this team replaced NAVI Javelins on Valve's leaderboards since it had 3 out of 5 players from that lineup. After the next event with the Ukrainian organization, they'll reappear on the rankings under the old name. In HLTV's rankings, they are sitting at 191.
