He admitted they are struggling against G2 Esports, as the European team has continually bested them this season. The rifler shared his opinion on the official broadcast.
Obviously, we were a bit stressed because we played in the grand final against G2 Esports, the opponent that beats us every time. They haven't lost control during this bo5 even once. They were just better. <...>
We all doubt ourselves at some point. When we make dumb mistakes at the beginning of the game against G2, we think, "Okay, they will not let it slide." There's no point in thinking about this, but you'll always subconsciously come to this. We just can't perform at our best, and it's not enough to beat G2.
Banks asked zont1x if there's a person responsible for their mental state on the team who is supposed to bring Spirit back on track in case of psychological struggles. The Ukrainian believes that it's everyone's responsibility.
Everyone should do that: If you're a player and you're not doing this yourself, nobody is going to help you. It mainly comes from knowledge. Psychologists and older people can only give you the experience they had, but if you cannot understand it, that's not going to work. You have to gain this knowledge. But I don't think we're ready. After we lost four matches in a row to G2, going to the fifth, making all stupid mistakes and losing rounds, and seeing them win the first map, we just cannot come back.
G2 Esports defeated Team Spirit with a score of 3:0. Zont1x and his teammates couldn't win a single T-side round on the first two maps, Mirage and Anubis.
