NAVI wins fourth trophy in 2024 at IEM Rio

NAVI dealt with MOUZ in the grand final of IEM Rio 2024 and earned yet another trophy this year. They beat the opponents in the bo5 series with a score of 3:1 — Inferno (13:11), Dust 2 (13:2), Mirage (6:13), and Ancient (13:11).

Mihai "iM" Ivan was named the MVP of the tournament. It is his first career award. He finished the event with a 1.15 HLTV rating, averaging 80 ADR and 75 KPR. Interestingly enough, he wasn't even in the top 10 of best players by rating, and all of his teammates except Aleksib had a better score. It seems that his grand final performance was a deciding factor.

NAVI continue to dominate the pro scene. They played their 6th consecutive grand final, succeeding in half of them. In these matches, they played five different teams, facing G2 twice. NAVI also won two bo5s, lifting Aleksib's curse.

IEM Rio 2024 was held from October 7 to 13 in Brazil, with 16 participating teams. The prize pool was $250k. FURIA achieved their best result since the Rio Major, reaching the semi-final of a big LAN for the first time in two years. Unfortunately, they only played one match in front of the home crowd.

FalleN: "This game wasn't about NAVI not showing up. We played superb, we played so different"
