Smokes extinguish mollies faster after new CS2 update, but their range is bugged Video
2024-10-03 13:01:00The Armory update of October 2 changed gameplay, which wasn't mentioned in the patch notes. The developers fixed the smoke-molly interaction to make it faster and more reliable. Now, the flames always extinguish quickly, but there's a new issue reported on Reddit.
Throwing a smoke grenade at a surface above the fire also puts it down, and the range of the new interaction is huge. In the video example below, the nade hits a wall above head level and still extinguishes the flame almost instantly, before the projectile hits the ground. Such utility behavior might spoil many moments when you want to land a smoke behind a fire. There might be other undiscovered issues due to this as well.
Overall, this is a welcoming change, as since CS:GO, players couldn't always guarantee extinguishing fires with smokes due to their mechanics. It was more reliable in CS2 but took more time in some situations. The update also has another change related to utility: Flashbangs and HE grenades no longer detonate after several bounces. They now rely exclusively on the timers.
The October 2 update brought the new Armory Pass, with multiple collections, Gallery Case, charms, and other cosmetics. There were many gameplay adjustments: movement animations were significantly improved and numerous voice issues were fixed. Unexpectedly, Italy was added to the Competitive map pool.
