G2 Esports defeats NAVI for first time since mid-2023 and takes trophy of BLAST Fall Final 2024

G2 Esports outplayed NAVI in the grand final BLAST Fall Final 2024. The bo5 series ended up with the 3:1 score — Ancient (13:9), Dust 2 (13:11), Mirage (11:13), Inferno (13:7).

Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov got the MVP title, which is the third in his career and the second this year. The Russian AWPer finished the event with a 1.33 HLTV rating.

This is G2's second trophy this year and the first victory against their rivals from NAVI. Since mid-2023 they met this lineup nine times and did not win a since time. Even at this tournament, G2 lost the initial match.

This result also ends Aleksib's streak of never losing to his former teams. His bo5 record is looking bleak despite the recent win at ESL Pro League S20. NAVI remains the best team in the rankings, as they reached their fifth grand final in a row.

The BLAST Fall Final 2024 was held from September 25 to 29 in Copenhagen, Denmark. Eight teams competed for a share of $425k and a slot at the World Final.
