Dataminer: Valve might add new item or weapon to CS2 Rumors
2024-09-10 15:26:00Dataminer discovered a new item or a weapon type in CS2 files. It will possibly be added with the next big update, expected at the end of September. The leak was revealed on YouTube channel Prom_molekura.
There's a Panorama menu file responsible for displaying recently added items in the inventory, be they weapons, stickers, or anything else. Its script also has a line that says, "Quest_reward." Dataminer guesses that Valve is still preparing an Operation, but he isn't fully sure about it.
The mentioned item could be the keychains, previously discovered by another dataminer, Maksim "GabeFollower" Poletayev. He also discovered slots for future skins and other types of cosmetics. A year ago, shortly after CS2 release, the developers promised to add new guns in a post-launch interview.
The community expects Valve to release a significant update at the game's first anniversary. The game was released on September 27, 2023. Some hope for an Operation, but it's unclear if Valve even plans to run those in CS2. There's also hope to see a remake of Train, as it featured in the first trailers of the shooter.
