S1mple loses to KennyS in show match, assures he wants "to return one day to bring same emotions to fans"
2024-08-17 09:01:00NAVI inactive CS2 star Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev visited China to play in a show match against Kenny "KennyS" Schrub. When asked about his comeback, the AWPer replied that he hopes to "return one day" to "bring the same emotions to the people following CS."
S1mple versus KennyS wasn't a 1v1 show as announced initially. They competed with teams of local payers. Someone named 解忧 topped the scoreboard, but of course, both legends were among the best on the server as well.
Coincidentally, on the same day Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov mentioned s1mple's comeback. After G2 was eliminated from IEM Cologne 2024, he called for the star AWPer to return to pro scene in a post-match message on X.

S1mple is inactive since October 2023. He played only a single series in CS2, as a stand-in for Falcons. He was supposed to find a team during the summer break, but it didn't happen. His return to the main squad also seems out of realm of possibility, as NAVI are the current best team in the world, with two event wins this year and aiming at IEM Cologne trophy.
