CS2 caster: "Danger Zone will not be returning to CS2 for the foreseeable future" Rumors

British caster Neo "Ne0kai" Caine reports that Valve doesn't plan to restore CS:GO mode Danger Zone in the near future. According to his message on X, the player numbers weren't satisfying, so remaking the mode in CS2 isn't a priority.

I have it on good authority that Danger Zone will not be returning to CS2 for the foreseeable future. Player numbers were not high enough to justify Valve prioritizing working on it.

Danger Zone came out in December 2018 and was Valve's take on the Battle Royale genre in CS:GO. It had some distinctive features, such as fast-paced action, areas highlighting the opponents' rough location, drone deliveries, and several gadgets unseen in CS, such as Breach Charges, Bump Mines, and ExoJump Boots. The mode wasn't too popular, although a chunk of the player base enjoyed it.

Valve never promised to recreate Danger Zone in CS2. The dataminers didn't report on finding clues of its return either. The only mode the developers re-released so far is the popular Arms Race. There were demands to bring DZ back at the beginning of CS2, but after a year since the new game release, the community rarely mentions it.
