CS2 Casual mode bug allows to play for opposing team and plant bomb as CT
2024-07-30 11:27:00CS2 players discovered a bug that allows you to change your team while simultaneously remaining a member of the other side. For example, you can plant the bomb as CT this way. According to the Telegram channel Raiznews, the bug has been around "for months."
After getting on the opposing team, the player still counts as an enemy and can be damaged. However, if the teammates attack such an infiltrator, they might receive a cooldown for griefing. The screen of the player who changed the team goes dark, so he needs a shared screen from an ally to see what's going on. The glitch works only in Casual and activates in the team choice menu after posting the following commands in the console:
bind "X" "pickup_groundweapon 49; pickup_groundweapon 9; pickup_groundweapon 7; pickup_groundweapon 81; pickup_groundweapon 82; pickup_groundweapon 83; pickup_groundweapon 43; pickup_groundweapon 42"
Note that Valve may consider abusing some bugs to be an unfair advantage. Since this is Casual and the bug is somewhat harmless, it's unlikely that the developers will impose any punishment for the use of it, but it's better to be safe than sorry.
Just recently, dataminer Thour warned against using another glitch related to in-game sound. He reminded the fans that those who abused the M_yaw command ended up permanently banned by VAC. There was also a case of FACEIT blocking over 400 users for a loophole wallhack in the early days of CS2.
