Donk: "I don't think Vertigo is our problem. We just need to practice and play better" Interview
2024-03-11 10:54:00Team Spirit star Danil "donk" Kryshkovets spoke about their performance on Vertigo after qualifying for BLAST Spring Final 2024. The team had lost on this map to Metizport in the decider but won the series 2:1. The young gun shared the details with Banks in the post-match interview.
We had a bad start, it was a 3v1 pistol. I teamkilled magixx. We started with a 0-3, and it's a lot for the CT-side, especially because of new spawns on T-side. The attack is much stronger now. I don't think Vertigo is our problem. We just need to practice and play better.
On Mirage, everything was good. I only had some stress in the CT pistol. We lost 5v2, and it became 2v2, so it's a stressful situation. But after that pistol round, I think they had zero chances to come back. <...> There's always a thought in your mind that the enemy can come back. We know we won a second pistol round, and it is 10:3. But they can always force-buy and break you. You'll have to eco, and they can snowball you. It was the same on Nuke. We lost a lot of powerful situations, and the map got harder for us.
Spirit lost on Vertigo twice at Copenhagen RMR, and every team they faced chose this map against them at BLAST Showdown. However, Metizport were the only opponents who managed to win it. Donk and his teammates earned their spots at the BLAST Final in London.
Metizport previously defeated Falcons, with s1mple as a stand-in. The team has young talent Linus "nilo" Bergman, who was picked as a bold prediction for a future breakthrough player by many professionals. The Swede didn't show up for the duel of prodigies, finishing the bo3 as one of the worst players on the server.
