Valve: Paris Major will be last in CS:GO history, and only Major in 2023

Valve Corporation announced that BLAST Paris Major will be the last event of this kind in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. The company decided to cancel the second Major of the year and hold the first Major of CS2 in 2024. The announcement came on social media.

When is the first CS2 Major will be held

The first event after the transition to the new version of the Counter-Strike will happen in March of 2024. Most likely, the developers decided to give players time to practice on the new engine, while Valve workers are taking feedback on the beta and fixing bugs.

The company didn't share additional info on where the first Major of CS2 will be held, who will be hosting it, or how much of these tournaments will be in 2023. The second CS:GO Major of 2023 was planned for November. Paris Major will be held on May 8-21. 24 participating teams will be fighting for prize pool of $1,250,000 and invites to IEM Cologne 2023 and BLAST Premier World Final. The list of competitors will be decided in the RMR tournaments around the world, which will be held on April 6-15.
