KennyS leaves G2 Esports to free agency

French CS:GO legend Kenny "KennyS" Shrub leaves G2 Esports. He hasn't been playing since early 2021, although never announced retirement. The sniper and the club thanked each other for the last six years of cooperation.

That day finally arrived, what a weird feeling! After representing the org for such a long time, it’s now over, I don’t wanna make it long, I wanna thank from the bottom of my heart all the people I’ve worked with (players, staff, employees, and owners) I’ve learned so much and also made amazing relationships throughout the years, I don’t have the words to express my gratitude towards the club.

Representing such a big organization and being the face of the CSGO team was such an honor and pride! Beyond everything, I wanna thank the G2Army for their unconditional love and support. G2 you are always in my heart, this tweet is written out of feelings and not planned at all, once again I’m out of words, I could speak about those (almost) 6 years for hours.

KennyS has been streaming for a year and a half and played once as a stand-in at IEM Winter 2021. He joined G2 in 2017 and carried the team through three years, averaging an above 1.10 LAN rating. He won several top-tier trophies through that period, such as EPL S5 or DreamHack Masters Malmo 2017.

The sniper didn't reveal his next move. During his time with G2, he considered switching to Valorant. At the beginning of 2022, there were also rumors about an organization buying AmaNEk and KennyS to assemble a new squad, but the deal never happened. Judging by the following transfers, it could've been LDLC where AmaNEk ended up playing.
