"Robin Hood on crack?" Hackers break into CSMONEY, give away and steal millions of dollars in skins

Skin trading website CSMONEY suffered a "millions of dollars" loss after a hacker attack that gave away numerous expensive skins. The co-owner of ECSTATIC, Oliver "zipeL" Behrensdorff, was the one on the receiving end among many other traders with big inventories. He warned about the issue on Twitter.

Later, CSMONEY commented on the situation to a Russian Telegram channel CYBERSLOVO. The skin trading company states that the attack was well planned and perfectly coordinated. The giveaways were done to distract the big traders from the theft.

Last night, we faced the largest hack in the history of the service. As a result, our bots started sending out skins to a huge number of users. The attackers are well prepared and tried to deal maximum damage, which is already in millions of dollars.

One fact shows their level of preparation. Along with the hack, they sent small trade offers to dozens of popular traders and influencers to distract them from the ongoing transactions as much as possible.

ZipeL warned the users who got the free skins that they might be banned by Valve. He doesn't think that the company will revert the trades. ZipeL advised them to send him a personal message to evade possible repercussions.
