Broky's winning interview: "Hope we can come back stronger and go for the second major!" Exclusive
2022-07-17 22:21:00We talked with FaZe Clan's Helvijs "broky" Saukants right after his historic win over NAVI in the final battle of the CS:GO season at IEM Cologne 2022. A five-map show ended with FaZe victory — 3:2 Inferno (16:13), Overpass (13:16), Ancient (16:19), Mirage (16:9), and Nuke (16:14).
[On winning the tournament]
It feels good to win. I enjoyed every map here. Of course, it's exhausting, but I think it was a great run for us to win this tournament.
I think Bo5-finals are great for tournaments like these. If there's a scenario like this: five maps instead of a 3-0, and not like 16:4, 16:5, I think it's good.
[When you understood that FaZe would certainly win?] It was unclear till the end. I don't think I really even realized myself, what we did this year, so maybe it's going to hit me some time later.
[What's next?] I'm not sure, but I think we need the break. We had a long season this year, the first season. I hope we can come back stronger and go for the second major!

[Broky's best moment from the grand-final]
When I pushed mid and killed four from behind, it was a crucial moment for me and mentally for the team. So I think that is one of the main things for me.
I think intense finals are the best. It was so emotional! Adrenaline is pumping, and everything is so close, 14:14... It's unbelievable.
[On Ancient]
I think they should change something else. This last change didn't help. For anyone, Ancient is still CT-sided. When it was 5:15, one of my teammates said that if we make it, is going to be a legendary comeback. Unfortunately, we failed in the overtime, but we're happy that we even came back.
